Thai airways operates both Airbus 330-300 and Boeing 777-300 aircraft between Seoul and Bangkok. I have been on the Airbus 330-300 flight before and was glad to try a different aircraft this time.

Thai Airways Business Class (Royal Silk) on this 777 aircraft features 34 Angled-flat seats in 2 x 2 x 2 configuration. Frankly for this short route, angled flat seats are fine.

After boarding and settling down in my seat, the flight attendant approached me and handed over the lunch menu. For pre-departure beverage, I chose just plain water although there were a variety of juices available.

Lunch Menu

Meal service started soon after takeoff. The prawn balls are quite tasty.

Cashews & Prawn Balls

Not a big fan of smoked salmon as I don’t like my fish so moist. However, the rest of the veggies tasted quite fresh and tasty.

Smoked Salmon & Mixed Green Salad

For main entree, I chose deep fried prawn with vegetables and and rice. I ended up eating just the prawns which were just ok (as in not that crispy).

Deep Fried Prawn with Dhonburi Sauce

After lunch, I ended up watching in-flight entertainment for a couple of hours.

Bottomline:

Seat: ****

Service: ***

Food: ***

For a regional flight of just under 6 hours, the angled-flat seat serves its purpose well. However, I definitely would not want to travel long-haul on this seat.

Service was standard, attentive Thai hospitality.

Food was average. The prawn balls were delicious but the main entree of deep fried prawn in mixed green was so so.
