ANA Crowne Plaza Kyoto

ANA Crowne Plaza Kyoto is an IHG Hotels property located next to Nijo castle in Kyoto. A free night at this hotel costs 30,000 IHG points. The hotel is located about 3.5 km (10 minutes drive) from Kyoto station and provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from the station.
The hotel is also located right next to Nijōjō-mae Station on Tozai subway line which connects this hotel to most of the sightseeing attractions of Kyoto.
We arrived quite early around 11 AM and the room was not ready for check-in so we dropped off our luggage with the bellman and went out sightseeing.
Check-in was quick in the evening. Karen holds IHG Platinum status but we did not get any upgrades this time around.
The hotel has several restaurants on property and we ended up having lunch at one of them.The ambiance was really beautiful sitting next to the glass windows with the waterfall just outside.
Thumbs up:
- Fairly good value for 30,000 IHG points/night considering the fact that Kyoto hotels can be quite expensive
- Right next to Nijōjō-mae station on Tozai line which gives fairly good access to most tourist attractions in Kyoto
