Sheraton Hanoi Hotel
K5 Nghi Tam, 11 Xuan Dieu Road, Tay Ho District, Hanoi
Sheraton Hanoi Hotel is a Category 2 SPG property located about 25 miles from Hanoi International Airport (Noi Bai). This hotel is a great option for SPG point redemptions costing only 4,000 SPG points per night.

Although the hotel offers paid airport transfers, I would recommend using other airport transfer services as they provide much better value. We used Hanoi Transfer Service and paid $32 for round trip service in a luxury SUV.

Front Desk

We arrived late at night and check-in was fairly quick although not very smooth. I had booked 2 rooms using SPG points and my booking was eligible for Club Lounge Access. When the front desk notified me that neither room came with breakfast and I could opt to pay for it, I reminded them that at least 1 room should be eligible for Club Lounge access and therefore can avail breakfast at the Club. After checking, they notified that indeed one room was eligible for breakfast at the Club Lounge but only for 1 person and not the guest in that room. After I corrected them by stating that it should be me and an additional guest, they came back confirming that indeed that was the case.

Breakfast @ Club Lounge

The breakfast buffet at the Sheraton Club Lounge had a pretty comprehensive menu of choices. The omelette station was the best and my parents seemed to enjoy having the chef prepare the eggs as per their specs.

Club Lounge Happy Hour

The Club Lounge also had a happy hour from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and had enough choice appetizers and desserts to substitute a dinner.

Club Lounge Happy Hour

One great thing about the hotel is that Club Lounge guests are allowed to avail their complimentary breakfast at the in property restaurant Oven D’or instead of the lounge. We tried out the restaurant for the breakfast buffet on our last day in Hanoi and were amazed by the variety of choices for the buffet. I would definitely recommend dining at the Oven D’or restaurant for the breakfast instead of the Club Lounge.

Breakfast at Oven D’or Restaurant

Thumbs up:

  • Great variety of choices for breakfast buffet at Oven D’or restaurant and recommended for Club Lounge Guests instead of dining at the lounge.
  • Excellent Club Lounge Breakfast buffet and Happy Hour choices.
  • Only a Category 2 SPG property and a great value for SPG points (either all points or Cash + Points booking)

Thumbs down:

  • Front desk might not be fully aware of some reservations that are entitled to Club Lounge benefits
  • A bit far from Hanoi Old Quarter and not many good dining options nearby
