Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort
2005 Kalia Road, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96815, USA

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is a Category 7 property of the Hilton HHonors program where a free night redemption at the hotel goes for 60,000 Hilton points. Located on a wide stretch of the Waikiki Beach, this property is only 10 miles from Honolulu International airport. The resort boasts as many as 18 restaurants and lounges and also is conveniently located close to other shopping complexes. The hotel charges for parking (Self Parking: $27/night and Valet Parking: $33/night). There is also a resort fee of $30/night which was waived for me as an elite benefit for Gold.

We arrived at the resort around 2 pm. There was not much of a check-in line yet and either way, the hotel had its dedicated elite status check-in line. The front desk agent upgraded us to Ocean-Front room from resort-view room in the Rainbow Tower.  We were also given the option of 1,000 Hilton Bonus points per stay OR a $10 daily dining credit to use in participating restaurants and bars onsite for me and up to one guest for each day of your stay. We chose the dining credit.

There are two swimming pools in the resort right next to each other. One was a little warmer than the other and neither went any deeper than 3.5 ft. 🙁

The room came with a refrigerator and a coffee maker.

The resort also had its own lagoon. The water was fairly cold during our stay and we didn’t venture into it either. Folks were doing various activities like paddle-boarding, snorkeling and kayaking.

Thumbs up:

  • Excellent location, the resort is on the semi-private beach
  • Lots of dining and shopping options right in the resort.
  • Recognition of elite status. I was upgraded from a resort view room to oceanfront room. Also got dining credit at the onsite restaurants.

Thumbs down:

  • Everything is more expensive in the resort and the town is a bit far to walk.
  • Parking is pricey and there is a resort fee on top of that. Luckily resort fee was waived for Gold members.
