Day 1:
Upon arriving at Split International Airport from Poland, we picked up our rental car from airport and drove 3.5 hours to Plitvice Lakes National Park. The drive is mostly boring and not very picturesque although you pass through a lot of tunnels (one was quite a long one).
We were staying at Pansion Breza for the night, located 15 minute walk from Entrance #3 of the park.
Day 2:
We walked from our B&B to Entrance #3 of the park. There is no ticket booth at this entrance and our host had advised us to book tickets online (40 Euro/person). The tickets are timed but our host assured us that we can enter the park any time after the time on the ticket.
There are multiple routes you can take to visit the park. In the map, we were staying in Plitvice Selo village. From Entrance 3 (not shown in map), we arrived at viewpoint 4. Followed 5 – 6 – 2 – St1 –tram– St2 —tram— St3 – 3 – P2 —boat—-P3 to complete the trip.
Remember, no need to bring bathing suit as swimming anywhere inside the park is strictly prohibited.
After reaching the P3 by boat, it was a quick walk back to Entrance #3 and another 15 minutes walk back to hotel. We spent a total of 5 hours in the park and was a very tiring but satisfying day.
