We stayed the night before at Hotel Laugarvatn after traveling our Golden circle route. We drove from Laugarvatn area to the town of Vik, located in south coast of Iceland.

After spending quite a bit of time at Seljalandsfoss falls, we took the path in front of the falls along the side of the mountain for only 10 minutes to approach the next falls, Gljufrabui falls.

Since the crevice is narrow and a stream flows through it, to get inside the cave there was a queue. Soon we were in.

After spending a short time in Gljufrabui Falls, we resumed our drive towards Vik.

We drove 55 km from Seljalandsfoss Falls to arrive at Dyrhólaey viewpoint, next to the lighthouse.

It was very cold and windy here so we were not going to spend more than 30 minutes.

The main reason to come to Dyrhólaey was to see the puffin colony that’s reportedly here around this time of the year. We were not disappointed and saw a few.

Our next stop was going to be Reynisfjara beach.

Reynisfjara beach is famous for basalt columns and you could see everyone wanting to go up the columns to take photos.

After Reynisfjara beach, we drove further towards the town of Vik and arrived at Víkurfjara Black Sand Beach. By this time the wind had picked up and it was quite cold and windy so we spent only 5 minutes and got back in our car and left.

By this time it was getting late and we were hungry so stopped by this burger place, Smiðjan Brugghús. I had the chicken sandwich while Karen had the lamb burger.
