This was our last day of vacation and we wanted to spend the whole time………drumroll……. pretty much at the beach :).

We wanted to check out the Hollywood Beach and the famous Boardwalk. We packed our lunches and icebox and drove there just past 11 AM. We forgot that it was a Saturday and the parking lot was already starting to get full. Parking entry fee is $8 for the day.

City of Hollywood. Cool Water Towers !!

The beach was pretty crowded by the time we got there.

Lots of people

We were there to spend our day in the water and without much ado, jumped right in. The waves were pretty massive at the beach that day, the likes of which I had’nt encountered since our trip to Cabo a few years back.

Nice waves !!
I was having a blast the whole time we were in the water

The next 2 hours went by in a blur !! We were hungry and decided to have our lunch and then go back to the water. Unfortunately every single picnic bench and table in the beach was taken by this time so we just ate our sandwiches by our car in the parking lot and went back to the water. I overheard a couple of families mentioning that they came there at 8 am to reserve the picnic tables !! and we thought we were early at 11 am :).

After lunch we went back for a couple more hours of fun in the waves.

David Hasselhoff is back !!
Florida, We will be back !!

We were still not ready to accept that we had reached the end of our vacation. I wanted to dry off at the beach and dozed off for about an hour in the sand while Karen worked diligently on her sand and shells masterpiece. 🙂

Karen is quite the artist !!

It was past 5 in the evening and we decided to go for a stroll on the famous Boardwalk.

Boardwalk at Hollywood Beach

After about an hour, we decided to head back to our hotel.
