DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel New York City – Times Square

This Hilton HHonors Category 10 property is located right on Times Square as the name suggests. This is an excellent hotel choice for sightseeing in New York as many of the attractions (Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise, Central Park) are all within walking distance and avoid need for a cab. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to prospective NYC tourists. The only downside is that it being in the highest Hilton category, it costs 70,000 – 95,000 points/night for a standard award night. I had booked 2 nights at this hotel (2 room Queen Premium suite with sofabed) with points and at that time it cost 50,000 points/night.
Check-in was quick and we got some warm chocolate-chip cookies which was a nice touch.
The living room has a pullout sofabed making stays of 4 people/room possible.
As a Hilton HHonors Gold member, I got a voucher for 2 people for breakfast at their restaurant. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING !! All kinds of items along with an Omlette/Pancake station where you can get fresh, grilled to order.

- Location, Location, Location !! Within walking distance to quite a few main Manhattan attractions.
- Lots of dining options nearby.
- Excellent breakfast.
- Microwave and fridge in the room.
Thumbs down:
- Expensive hotel if you are paying cash.
- Parking is pricey (Renting a car is not recommended anyways).
- No free wifi in room
