Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur
Jalan Stesen Sentral, Kuala Lumpur Sentral, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur is an SPG Category 3 property located right beside the Kuala Lumpur Sentral train station, the largest train station in South East Asia. A free night at this hotel costs 7000 SPG points per night and Cash + Points currently go for 3500 SPG points + $55 USD. The non-refundable prepaid rate for this hotel was going for only $ 97 USD for the dates we were traveling and so I did not redeem any SPG points for this stay.

Hotel Entrance

The hotel is located right outside of the KL Sentral station beside the Hilton Kuala Lumpur. In fact both these hotels share the same entrance and guest elevators.

The lobby is very stylish with a center island and waiting area on one side and coffee shop on the other.

We arrived at the hotel around 10 AM and the front desk informed us that both our rooms were ready to check in. For the 2 rooms we had booked, one was upgraded to a Deluxe room and the other to a Premier room.

Deluxe Room

The Deluxe room had a great seating area with floor to ceiling windows while the Premier room did not. Both rooms were facing the KL Sentral train station so there were no great views to speak of.

The Premier room on the other hand had a much better bathroom than the Deluxe with both stand-in shower and a bathtub.

Thumbs up:

  • Although the area around the KL Sentral station is hard to navigate, I consider the location of this hotel excellent. You can take the commuter train to the Batu Caves, the Light Rail Transit to the Petronas Towers and the monorail to Bukit Bintang.
  • The price per night for the stay seemed very cheap to me. A hotel of this caliber for less than $100 a night is an excellent value !!

Thumbs down:

  • Some people might not find the location ideal as its far from most attractions to walk to. You need to either use the rail/mono rail or cabs.
  • Not that many dining options nearby unless you count the food court at the KL Sentral station next door.
