Le Méridien Cairo Airport

Le Méridien Cairo Airport is a Category 2 SPG property located adjacent to the Terminal 3 of Cairo International Airport. It is attached to the airport building with a bridge that allows for a very reliable way to stay near the airport for short business stays. A reward night at this property costs 4000 SPG Starpoints (or 2000 SPG Starpoints + $35).
We were arriving in Cairo from Luxor early in the morning (7:30 AM) and departing early next day (2:00 AM) onwards to Nairobi. I had already booked a day tour but wanted to be close to the airport so we could just walk to the airport 2 hours before the flight.
After arriving at the airport, we followed the signs and walked over the connected bridge from the terminal building to the hotel. Check-in was fairly quick and the check-in agent upgraded both our rooms to Club floor giving us Lounge access for the stay. Awesome !!
One of the rooms was with a King bed and the other one with 2 single beds.
When we arrived in the evening back at the hotel after our sightseeing trip it was already time for Daily Cocktail hour (6 PM – 8 PM). There was a small selection of both hot and cold savory appetizers as well as some sweets.
After dinner we went back to our rooms for some sleep before we departed early in the morning for our Nairobi flight. Check-out was quick and we reached the terminal within 5 minutes by walking back over the bridge.

- Excellent recognition of SPG status as we got upgraded to Club floor with just SPG Gold.
- Excellent redemption of SPG Starpoints as only a Category 2 property.
