DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Residences Dubai Al Barsha

Hilton has close to 20 properties in Dubai and it is easy to get overwhelmed by options. We were looking for a mid-price range property and the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Residences Dubai Al Barsha fit the bill. It is located very close to Mall of Emirates (about 10 minutes walk due to all the construction going on around it).
I had booked 4 nights at this hotel – first 3 using regular rate through Hilton website and last night redeeming Iberia Avois points through Iberia website (which books through Expedia). The front desk agent mentioned that Hilton does not grant elite benefits to 3rd party website bookings (such as free breakfast for Gold Elite members) but he was going to make an exception and allow it.
Thumbs up:
- Good location as only 10 minutes walk to Mall of Emirates which had lots of dining options
- Great Breakfast buffet
- Good customer service at the front desk allowing elite benefits for our 4th night booking made through 3rd party booking
Thumbs down:
- Cannot walk to any of the Dubai attractions as you need cab for pretty much everything. Even though Mall of Emirates has the metro Red Line, its still a bit of a walk.
