Thai Airways is known for having a wide variety of aircraft types and configurations on its fleet and sometimes you are not sure what type of seat layout you are going to get. I have flown Thai Airways 777-300ER long-haul once before and short haul several times. This particular flight was the best Thai Airways experience ever (mainly because of amazing catering!!).

Welcome Drink & Refreshing Towels

Service started soon after I boarded with warm towels and a refreshing drink (pomegranate juice).

Thai Airways Business Class Dining Menu BKK – LHR
Champagne & Nuts

The flight leaves very late at night and so the dinner service started right away.

Smoked Salmon, Feta Cheese with Tomato (Left), Crabmeat & Salmon Tartare with balsamic glaze

Both the appetizers were very delicious and I wish they served seconds 🙂

Baked Sea Bass with creamy leek sauce, tomatoes, pumpkin and zuccini

The baked sea bass was tasty but the fondant potato was undercooked and too hard.

Assorted cheese and fruits (left), Chocolate Hazelnut ganache (right)
Seat laid out in bed mode

After dinner I laid out the seat in bed mode and went to sleep soon after. The mattress was firm and had a great night sleep. The bedding was also quite comfortable.

Comfortable bedding

Breakfast was served about 2 hours before landing. It was filling although nothing outstanding.

Bottomline:

Seat: *****

Service: ***

Food: *****

The most memorable thing from this flight was the food. The appetizers, entrée, dessert during the dinner were all superb. The crabmeat and smoked salmon for appetizers were delicious. So was the baked sea bass entrée.

I have flown the Thai Business Class long-haul before on another 777-300 flight but this business class seating looked a little bit different. The bulkhead window seat was private, seat cushion firm and great for a night sleep.
