This was our first ever business class experience on Aeromexico and I was looking forward to it and was pleasantly surprised by the end. Aeromexico Business class on Boeing 787-900 consists of 36 seats in 1 X 2 X 1 reverse herringbone configuration.

I like the reverse herringbone configuration due to the direct aisle access for all seats. Previously my favorite used to be the EVA Air Business class for this configuration. However, Aeromexico ones are even better. The privacy shield at the top is larger and provides even more privacy and the footwell is quite large which enables more free movement of your leg when laying down.

The flight takes off just before 10 AM and meal service (breakfast) started soon after takeoff. I had the smoked salmon toast with salad and fresh fruits while Karen opted for waffles with syrup.

Aeromexico Business Class Breakfast – Waffles & Syrup, yogurt and fresh fruits

After breakfast I laid the seat in bed mode and went to sleep for about 5 hours.

Dinner service started 2 hours before landing in Buenos Aires.

Aeromexico Business Class Dining Menu

I opted for the seasoned chicken breast with sautéed spinach for entrée while Karen went with braised short rib in mustard sauce. My chicken breast with sautéed spinach was delicious.

Appetizer: Shrimp Salsa (Left), Cheese & Crackers (Right)

One weird thing was that cheese & crackers that are usually served after entrée was brought out in a plate before.

Karen’s Dinner entrée – Braised Short rib in mustard sauce, garden salad

My chicken breast with spinach was very delicious (and I am not that big of a spinach fan). On the other hand Karen’s short rib was quite dry and not as good.

Business Class Dessert – Ice cream and berries

Bottomline:

Seat: **** 1/2

Service: ****

Food: ****

This was our first ever business class flight on Aeromexico and we were pleasantly surprised. The 1 x 2 x 1 reverse herringbone seats on Aeromexico Boeing 789 were very good. In fact they felt better than my previous favorite reverse herringbone seats on EVA Air (and Cathay Pacific). The seats had plenty of space in the footwell compared to other reverse herringbone products.

The dining choices were pretty good for both the meals I had during the flight. Service was also quite attentive and personal.
