My Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok was operated by an Airbus 330-300 featuring lie-flat seats in 1-2-1 configuration. For such a short flight (3 hours), even a recliner seat would be just fine by me. I did the long haul LAX – HKG flight 2 years back on a similar flight on Cathay Pacific and was very happy with the seat.

After boarding, the FA brought some champagne and juice and I opted for just plain water. Since the flight was pretty early in the morning, breakfast was served and I felt sad on missing out of a more comprehensive service for lunch.

The IFE was fairly decent sized and easy to operate. I ended up watching a movie for the entire flight rather than opt for a nap after breakfast. Watched Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, a pretty decent romantic comedy.

Breakfast service began soon after takeoff and I went with the western option instead of chinese one.

Bottomline:
Seat: *****
Service: ***
Food: ***

For a short 3 hour flight, this seat is an overkill. You would be hard pressed to do any better in a meaningful way. No amenity kits were supplied for this short-haul flight. Service was ok and nothing exceptional comes to mind.

The breakfast provided during the flight was just so so. I mean its just breakfast and nothing really caught my attention.
