Le Duc De Praslin
MPPR+CW5, Cap Samy, Seychelles

Le Duc De Praslin is located right next to the gorgeous Cote d’Or beach, about 6 miles from the inter-island boat ferry terminal on Praslin Island. It has 2 different properties, one older and one newer. We stayed at the older property (with bungalows) for 3 nights.

Hotel Reception Area – Welcome Drinks and also at Night

Check-in was fairly quick. Additionally we met with the actual owner of the property who introduced himself to us. We also saw the owner couple of times during the stay so you know that you are staying at a property where the owner is not hands off and is personally vested in making your stay memorable.

Hotel Grounds

There is a lot of greenery throughout the property. We were staying at the upstairs unit of a bungalow with views of the pool and partial ocean view. The ocean is right next to the property but due to boundary wall as well as trees you cant see the beach from the bungalows.

Room
Huge Bathroom – Bathtub, Toilet & Walk-in Shower

The bathroom is huge and we loved the upscale toiletries (L’Occitane) that were replenished daily.

Hotel Grounds & Pool

We had booked Half-Board room rate (Breakfast + Dinner). There are a couple of restaurants that belong to the hotel. One is directly on the hotel grounds, Le Dauphin Restaurant (for breakfast and dinner) and another beach restaurant Café Des Arts.

Dinner @ Restaurant, Night #1

Dinner buffet at Le Dauphin restaurant had quite a few options. The only disappointing thing is we did not know that the desserts and appetizers was housed in another room separate and away from the main buffet area, and we completely missed it for 2 nights. I guess if we were more aware of our surroundings we would have noticed other guests going to a different room and coming out with more food :). Due to the layout of the restaurant its hard to see the other room though.

Dinner Night #1 – Lamb chops, flat bread, seafood in creole sauce, potatoes (left), Fish, fried rice, Lamb chops (right)

Thumbs up:

  • Location, Location, Location!! Right next to one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been, that would be the Cote d’Or beach.
  • Very responsive front desk. When we let them know that we had an early morning ferry departure, they arranged for a packed breakfast the night before. We also saw the actual owner a few times during our stay so you know the is very involved in the day to day operations.
  • Good variety for the daily dinner/breakfast buffet.
  • Large bathroom with nice toiletries (L’Occitane).

Thumbs down:

  • Nothing we could think of
