Day 1:

We arrived at Mahe International Airport from Addis Ababa around 2 PM.

Landing in Mahe, Seychelles

After picking up our rental car, we drove 15km south along the coast to Doubletree by Hilton Seychelles – Allamanda Resort and Spa. We stayed here for 2 nights before visiting Praslin Island.

Doubletree Seychelles Allamanda Resort

After checking in at the hotel and freshening up, we hit the beach. It was early evening by now and we did not get in the water although it was quite warm!! The hotel is a beachfront property with private beach access.

We walked along the beach to nearby rocks which had a great view of the coastline. After spending an hour by the rocks and the beach it was getting dark so we went back to the room.

Day 2:

After breakfast we hit the beach straight away. The water was a little cooler as it was early but quite refreshing. It was low tide time and we found the hotel beach was quite rocky. Luckily we brought water shoes.

We had seen some posted warnings at the hotel about sea urchins and found at least 2 right by the shore.

We also saw some colorful fish at the shallow end of the beach and did not even have to snorkel for it.

Early afternoon we drove to Anse Royale Beach (5km north of the hotel on the way to the airport).

Soon it was getting high tide time and most of the beach was losing to rising levels. We drove back to the hotel to end the day with a nice elaborate dinner. We left for Praslin island early next day

Day 3 (Day 6 of trip):

We arrived from Praslin around 10 AM by ferry.

After picking up our rental car at the ferry port, we drove about 8 km to our hotel (Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa) where we were staying for 1 night before flying back to the US.

The room was not ready and so we spent some time at the restaurant where we had lunch.

Burger and Mojito for lunch

After checking in we changed and hit the small beach by the hotel. Hilton Northolme has a few small beaches (mostly rocky) unlike the Doubletree.

After spending a couple of hours at the beach we went back to the room and enjoyed our hotel welcome gift – wine and some snacks.

Day 4 :

This was our last day of the trip and we failed to get a late checkout and were told the hotel was fully booked (didn’t seem so but whatever!!).

We dropped our luggage at the front desk and hung out by the pool for a couple of hours before it was time to drive to the airport.
