Flight: EVA Air BR 196 from Taipei to Narita
Duration: 3 hours 15 mins
Equipment: B787X(Boeing 787-10)
Class: Business
Seat: 2A (Aisle)
Seat Specification: Flat bed seats with seat width: 21″, Row pitch: 44″
EVA Airways is among the top 2 airlines whose business class I’ve flown the most (the other being Cathay Pacific). However, this was the first time I flew it on a Boeing 787-10.
EVA Airways Business class on Boeing 787-10 consists of 38 seats with 10 rows of staggered 1-2-1 configuration. I love the color scheme of the business class seats !!
The seat has lots of legroom and feels quite private because of the privacy partition on the side.
EVA Airways allows you to pre-select entree’s before the flight from an expanded menu selection items that are not available onboard (along with those that are).
EVA Airways was serving Laurent Perrier champagne on this flight so obviously had some of that. 🙂
I had pre-selected grilled lamb with potatoes & vegetables as my lunch entrée from EVA website before the flight. The lamb itself was a little on the dry side but paired with the lamb jus was quite tasty.
Although this was a very short flight of 3 hours, for sake of review, I laid out the seat in bed mode and laid down for 30 minutes. The mattress is great for sleeping and would absolutely love it on longhaul (or ultra-longhaul) flights.
Bottomline:
Seat: ****1/2
Service: ****
Food: ****
I loved this EVA Air 1-2-1 business class seat in staggered pattern over the reverse herringbone on Boeing 777-300ER that’s majority of the long haul fleet for USA. This seat felt more private and spacious than the Boeing 777 ones I’ve flown before.
The expanded menu available online before the flight is a great feature that EVA Air uses (although now getting quite common among a lot of other carriers).
