Etihad operates twice daily flight between Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt, both on Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Business class consists of 28 seats with 1 x 2 x 1 configuration. The seats are in staggered layout with the odd number rows facing the aisle (less privacy) while even numbers facing the window (more privacy).
Service started with pre-departure beverage. We chose a refreshing lemon-mint drink.
We had late dinner at the Etihad lounge in Abu Dhabi and soon after takeoff laid out the seat in bed mode and went to sleep. The flight leaves pretty late (2:10 AM) and I had no trouble sleeping for the next 6 hours.
I woke up about 2 hours before landing and chose omelette with sausage while Karen went with toasted pannetone with berry compote.

The seat was very comfortable and padding firm enough for my liking. I had a good night sleep for this flight.
The service was ok but nothing spectacular. I went to sleep soon after takeoff and so did not get much time to evaluate service further.
My breakfast was standard business class offering while Karen liked hers a lot. Overall, I would definitely like to fly Etihad again.
