Bottomline:

Seat: *****

Service: ***

Food: ****

The seat was long, quite comfortable and even though it was a daytime flight, had no trouble sleeping about 7 hours.

The service was good but nothing memorable. I was quite surprised by the catering though. I know US carriers get a bad rap on food in business class sometimes but was quite happy with the meal quality on this flight. The grilled seabass was moist and delicious while Karen loved her dessert. For trans-atlantic flights, I would not mind picking American Airlines over other carriers but for trans-pacific I am pretty sure I would still go for other Asian carriers (Singapore, Cathay, Asiana).
