MilesPointsTravel Disclaimer: This review is solely the work of Karen. I personally did not fly this segment.

Ethiopian Airlines alternates between the older 737-800 Boeing and the newer 737 MAX 8 aircrafts. On this trip, it was the MAX version with 4 rows of recliner seats in 2 x 2 configuration in business class. This was a new aircraft with shiny interior indicating almost no wear and tear.

Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX Business Class Cabin
My Seat – 2J
Enough legroom for 3 hour flight
OK Seat pitch for a short flight
Welcome Amenity for 3 hour flight is quite generous

Dinner service started soon after take-off. As usual, there was no published menu. The chickpea salad was tasty.

Garden Salad, Chickpea and cold meat

I did not care much for the chicken curry this time. I much prefer the Ethiopian chicken curry they served on the outbound ADD-SEZ flight a week earlier.

Dinner Entree – Chicken & Vegetables
Dessert – cake

Bottomline:

Seat: ***

Service: ***

Food: **1/2

I only rate this seat as average because its good enough for a short 3.5 hours flight. Anything longer than that I would not like it as much. At least the aircraft was close to brand-new and cabin did not look worn out.

I did not care that much for the meals on this flight other than the chickpea salad. The service on Ethiopian is meh. Nothing horrible but I would not look forward to these flight attendants on future flights!!
