Flight: Thai Airways TG 923 from Frankfurt to Bangkok
Duration: 10 hours 30 minutes
Equipment: B773(Boeing 777-300ER)
Class: Business
Seat: 11J(Window seat but with arm-rest facing window)
Seat Specification: Lie Flat Seats, Seat pitch: 87″, Seat width: 20 ”
Thai Airways operates a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on Frankfurt-Bangkok route and this was the first time I was flying Thai Airways business class on a long-haul flight.
The business class cabin had 2 cabins with seats in 1 x 2 x 1 configuration with all seats having direct aisle access. The window seats alternated between having the arm rest facing the aisle (more private) and away from the aisle (less private). For families traveling together, middle rows would probably be preferable.
There was no dining menu available for this flight which was a bit disappointing.
This was the worst chicken satay I have ever had, period. The chicken was very dry and had a funky texture and flavor. I was worried if the chicken was some bad quality meat or something like that.
For main entrée I opted for Thai chicken with white rice. The chicken was very underwhelming again and this was shaping out to be probably the worst meal I’ve had on Thai Airways (out of 9 or so flights I have taken) so far.
After dinner I converted the seat to bed and went to sleep. The mattress was not very firm and even though I tossed and turned for the next 5-6 hours, it was still ok sleep.
Flight attendant woke me up about 2 hours before landing and served breakfast.
Bottomline:
Seat: ***1/2
Service: ***
Food: **
On a positive note, the seats were in 1 x 2 x 1 configuration with all seats having direct aisle access.
The dining on this flight was horrible. The chicken satay was dry and funky taste/texture and the main chicken entrée was not that much better either.
Service was mediocre and I have had better experiences on Thai Airways.
