MilesPointsTravel Disclaimer: This review is solely the work of Karen. I personally did not fly this segment.

This was my first time flying Air India and I was excited when I found out it would be the aircraft from the Etihad fleet that joined Air India service as the airline waits to take delivery of new orders. The business class consists of 10 rows of 1 – 2 – 1 seats with first 2 rows in a forward cabin and remaining rows in main cabin. The window seats alternate with a true window seat and the seat away from the window. I had selected a true window seat that provides better privacy than the other one.

The window seat provided lots of privacy in the cabin.

Appetizer – Seared Halloumi and Taboulleh Salad
Entrée – Paneer Elaichi Korma (Indian cottage cheese in a rich gravy, accompanied by zeera rice, lentils, okra and raita)

The paneer curry along with the lentils was very delicious and put to rest any future doubts of flying this carrier. I was so full that I opted to skip dessert.

Seat laid out to bed

The flight attendant offered turndown service and prepped the seat to bed with mattress on top.

Absence of footwell made it easy to move around sleeping
Breakfast – Raseela Aloo Matar (Potatoes with peas) accompanied with paratha (flatbread) and vegetable cutlet

Bottomline:

Seat: ****

Service: ****

Food: ****

The true window seats in Business Class cabin provide lots of privacy and space for moving around while sleeping.

Service was really good for this flight. The flight attendant was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Without even asking, she gave me an extra complimentary shawl given in business class!!

The food was superb all throughout. The paneer for dinner was delicious and so were the lentils. For breakfast the potato-peas curry was delicious and so was the flatbread.
