Cathay Pacific Business Class on the Boeing 777-300ER is one of my most frequently traveled hard product along with the EVA Air on the same aircraft. This was the first time I was flying Cathay Pacific post-pandemic and what a difference it was compared to before.

Cathay Pacific Business Class Dinner

I ordered the wok-fried cod on corn sauce. It was very bland and had nothing going for it.

Seat converted to bed

After dinner I converted the seat to bed and went to sleep for about 8 hours. Half way through the flight, I woke up and was a bit hungry owing to the terrible dinner served earlier. I ordered the classic burger with bacon and pickled onion and it turned out to be one of the better burgers I have ever had. Hard to believe they would serve such a juicy burger on an airplane but here we are. This definitely made up somewhat for the sub par dinner earlier.

After having the burger I went back to sleep and woke up about an hour before landing. I opted to skip breakfast as was too full from the mid-night snack. 🙂

Bottomline:

Seat: **** 1/2

Service: ***

Food: ***

The cod at dinner was terrible lacking any flavor at all. However, the hearty classic juicy burger for mid-night snack made up for some of the dining shortfall. The bed was comfortable and slept for a good 8 hours over the 14 hour flight. Service was kinda meh. I feel Cathay is slipping post pandemic and not in my top 3 Asian carrier of choice any more.
